Support of long refractors in M-zero was created by emartin
Hi friends
My 104/650 mm refractor, plus the camera, does not allow me to use the no meridian flip feature of the M-zero. I've read in page 9 of the M-zero user manual the following:

"To allow the use of longer refractors, an optional accessory has been realized allowing to distance the telescope from the mounting flange in order to allow the passage over the RA axis"

But I'm not able to find such accessory in the Avalon instruments web. Could you please tell me if such accessory for the M-zero really exists?

Thank you in advance

Eduardo

Hi Eduardo,
did you try to change the position of the DEC arm ( maybe you have to flip the L-brackets).
I have a long refractor too and dont need (and dont want ) a meridian flip...
See also page 22 in the M Zero manual

I personally tried to avoid an "extender" because of possible new problems with flex etc...

Thank you, Peter,

You are right. My old scope was shorter than the one I presently have. My setup was then with the DEC arm in a medium position and I forgot to change it after upgrading the tube. Your comment made me to realize it. I've just changed it and now it's ok.

Thanks again

Hi all

The sentence mentioned from emartin was wrongly typed inside a previous versione of the M-zero user manual

"To allow the use of longer refractors, an optional accessory has been realized allowing to distance the telescope from the mounting flange in order to allow the passage over the RA axis"

That kind of accessory is available for the M-uno mount and it is the Mini Extender.

As Peter suggested there is no need of such accessory due to the extreme versatility of the M-zero mount, with the possibility to move the DEC arm in 6 different positions.

Best regards

Stefano
