Can you send it to me too. I am also dealing with the replacement and it is quite complicated due to the necessary belt tension.

Thanks

Dear Stefano,I finally have the time to look at the mount again. Apart from the pictures in the pdf showing the disassembly of the housing, gears and belts, is there also a description? Especially on the last picture I don't understand the meaning of the yellow arrows, which obviously point to the right. Is this only about disassembling the stepper motor by loosening the hexagon screw? In addition, I have another major concern, because the reason I am considering replacing the belts is due to a possible defect caused by a cable that blocked the mount for a short time (about 2 seconds) when slewing.Unfortunately, this problem happened right at the beginning, after I bought the mount from a colleague and gained my first experience.Since then, I can't get below 1.5 “RMS or 1 pixel with guiding via phd, with a fairly good polar alignment in azimuth at -0.15‘ (3 pixels) and in altitude at 1.28’ (24 pixels), also with phd using drift alignment, as I don't have a clear view of Polaris. What do you think about it? Many thanks in advanceRainer Linke

Hello Rainer

Currently we have not yet prepaired a description, we will work to make it asap, however, the step by step pictures are quite intuitive and show the sequence of the pulleys, belts and bearing to assemble one after another.

The yellow arrows mean that once you have put all the belts, pulleys etc… and in the end you put the motor, in order to keep the system with the best tension possible, before to tight the screws, you have to push the motor on the right as much as you can. Then you can screw the screws to the end. After this operation you have to adjust the belt tension.

With regards to the cable blocking issue it’s a bit unlikely that 2 seconds blocking can lead to a mount defect.

However, considering you are in the belts replacement process, in case there is any problem you’ll see and you can correct it while reassembling. If after the reassembling you still detect not satisfactory performance, you can in a second moment tight a bit more the belt tensioner.

We’ll send you via mail a couple of pictures that show ho to adjust the tensioner.

Kind regards

Stefano
