Question Linear guiding with NINA

Linear guiding with NINA was created by Robdp
Was wondering if anyone can share any issues they had with the Linear and PHD2 guiding.  My new Linear with StarGo Plus calibrates, guides and does meridian flips just fine but after the flip once the restart of guiding occurs the RA axis within a few seconds runs away off scale.  If anyone has specific settings that work I would appreciate those.  I've done multiple sessions with the box checked and unchecked for "Reverse DEC with meridian flip" in the Advanced settings "Guiding" tab which has not made any difference.
Thanks,
Robdp

After installing an update from Stefano, finding and checking a box in the "Guiding" tab labeled as "Star Mass Detection" and running the "Meridian Flip Calibration" in the tools menu in PHD2 my guiding after the flip works. The results of the calibration stated not to check the box for the "Reverse DEC with Meridian Flip".

Just to let everyone know that might be considering this update, if you use SkySafari 7 with the StarGo Plus and Linear mount this could cause the app to not connect after installing the update. SkySafari 7 Plus worked with my new mount aside from some operational error messages but now doesn't connect any more. I get an error saying "a wireless connection can be made but the mount doesn't respond".

After your description we have performed some tests to check the connection issue and it seems that, as you have experienced, after this update the ASCOM Alpaca connection method doesn't work properly.
We have notified this to our developer that is already working on this.
However SkySafary7 offer also the INDI connection option which have tested successfully. Please refer to the StarGo Plus User Manual page 20 for the connection procedure.
Try in this way and let us know about.

Well I tried using the SG+ INDI driver/server with Sky Safari 7 and it did work however I avoided using the "iffy" hotspot.  I connected the SG+ ethernet to a LAN port on my travel router and used a static IP address in router's default range (192.168.8.130) in SG+.  I then connected to the router via Wifi with my android tablet and ran Sky Safari 7 Plus.  I also accessed the Web App by opening a browser and connected via the same IP address to "sync home position" and "clocks".  On occasion when I would "slew to home position" via the Web App I would get a connection error on Sky Safari but I could reconnect.  Probably the best thing would be to use the hand control to slew home and not the Web App.  Other than the ASCOM Alpaca/ Sky Safari 7 Plus connect problem I now have a fully working Linear mount which first arrived on August 2nd.
