Hello,
will the setting "Disable Meridian Flip" (when once checked in the StarGo menue via PC) stay and work while controlling the mount with SkySafari?
.....and especially after a new goto?
Or does this setting has to be repeated everytime via PC?

Hi Peter
When the “Disable Meridian Flip” is checked, it will works also by using SkySafari for all the new GoTo, even when the pc will be disconnected or switched off, until the StarGo is powered on.

In order to correctly use the “Disable Meridian Flip” feature, just follow this step by step procedure:

1. Switch on the StarGo and run the StarGo software
2. Perform the Sync Home Position.
3. Perform the first pointing, choosing the side of the Meridian that you want to use, before to disable the Meridian Flip.
4. Switch on the “Disable Meridian Flip” option, on the StarGo Software.
Starting from this point, the mount will slew to the next targets without doing the Auto Meridian Flip.
5. At this point you can connect the mobile device with the StarGo, via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth (on depending on your StarGo version)
6. Run SkySafari and connect with the StarGo. You will find the mount already aligned.
NOTE: Before the connection, be sure that the “Set Time & Location” is disabled, because the Site and Location has been already set during the Sync Home Position done at point 2, on depending on the internal StarGo pc Site and Location
7. At this point you can continue with Skysafari only (you can disconnect the StarGo software and shut down the pc)

NOTE: The “Disable Meridian Flip” setting, automatically will be disabled when the StarGo will be switched off.
The next session you must start form the point 1 again.

Hello Stefano,
thanks a lot for that information - that helps really, especially the gotos...
just an idea for a future fw update: having the option Meridian flip always being disabled?

Hi Peter

We are working on a beta version, that will be released within the next few days, with the “Meridian Flip Disabled” activated when the StarGo will be switched on, so, in this way it will be possible to have the “Meridian Flip Disabled” activated, when used with Skysafari, also without the PC.

Hi all
In the Support Download area is now available the "Installer StarGo 6.1.0 No Flip Beta".
This firmware version is based on the 6.2.0 and the only difference is that the “Meridian Flip Disabled” option comes activated as default. This option is active even when used with Skysafari, also without the PC.

Note for this beta version:
- In order to having the correct mount behavior movement, the first GoTo must be performed to the Eastern side of the Meridian.
- In case of using with the PC StarGo Software, the “Meridian Flip Disabled” option can be switched off, coming back to the standard mode.
- The “Meridian Flip Disabled” option will not be lost when the power is turned off.

If you only want to test we suggest to rename the previous stargo software folder before to install this version (you can follow this tutorial: www.avalon-instruments.com/component/all...ade-to-5-2-3-version)

Here the link for the download.

Clear skies

Hello,
it seems that with StarGo 6.20 SP3 the option "Disable Meridian Flip" is neither stored nor activated as default.
Do I have to reinstall version StarGo 6.1.0 No Flip Beta or 6.2.0 SP1?
thanks in advance!
Peter
