Replacing belts necessary? was created by sterne-jaeger
Hi all,
my Avalon Linear is meanwhile 8 years old and works very well generally. From time to time I have elongated stars in the RA direction.

I've seen that there are replacement belts available. Is it simply time to replace the existing ones by new ones? Or is there a way of adjusting the belts tension?

Further advice much appreciated.

Cheers
Wolfgang

Hi WolfgangFrom the description provided it doesn’t seem to be a belt issue.

Did you change something else in your setup in the meanwhile (telescope, CCD camera etc…)?

Is it possible that a new balancement should be performed?

There is a way to check and adjust the belt tension, PM us and we will provide you the required instructions.

Best regards
